Aino’s New WordPress Block Patterns

free WordPress Aino block pattern set Freestyle

Lately we spent a lot of time working behind the scenes. This is why I’m extra happy to finally start sharing more of what we have been working on.

We recently released our first Aino Block Patterns set, ‘Freestyle’. It’s a creative collection of block patterns for the WordPress editor. You can use the Aino ‘Freestyle’ patterns for your business website, portfolio or personal website. We are currently setting up a demo site to showcase the block patterns.

We already had fun helping some of our friends create their website with Aino and the Freestyle block patterns. It was so cool to see how fast they were able to build a small business portfolio site using our block patterns. Have a look at the block patterns and their responsive designs:

Once you have added a pattern to your page, you can start to exchange the sample text and images with your own content. The sample images show the exact image dimensions we recommend. Please note that the premium images we show here in our screenshots are not included in the block patterns.

Each block pattern can be used flexible. You can delete or duplicate sections of each pattern according to your needs. In most cases, the parent block of a pattern or pattern section is a Group block. You can select this outer Group block and delete or duplicate it.

It’s also possible to change the background colour of a parent Group block to create a page with different coloured sections.

(Btw, the block pattern 08 is missing on purpose. It’s going to be our first ‘Latest Posts’ block pattern, which we will add shortly.)

How to get started

We recommend using the block patterns with our Aino free theme since we created the pattern designs specifically for the Aino theme and blocks.

Once you have installed the Aino theme and Aino Blocks plugin, you can find the patterns in the editor sidebar in the Aino Freestyle category. On pages you choose first choose the Page Attribute ‘Fullscreen’ in your page settings.

Now you can drag’n’drop each pattern on your page or post. You can also add multiple block patterns below each other, e.g. for your landing page design.

You can choose the block patterns in the editor sidebar.

Recommended font settings

The custom Google font we used for the Freestyle block patterns design is Manrope. You can choose your custom font or use the Aino theme’s default Google font, ‘IBM Plex Sans’.

If you want to use the ‘Manrope’ font, we recommend installing the free Fonts WordPress plugin and choose the Manrope font in the plugin’s settings.

Now you can deactivate the theme’s default Google font in the Customizer under Theme / Typography.

What is coming next for Aino

Our Aino theme and block project is in active development, and we are constantly working on bug fixes, improvements and new features. For us, as WordPress themers, it’s beautiful to have the time to let the project grow and evolve. Our goal is to make Aino easier but simultaneously also more versatile for our users.

Next on our to-do list are the following new features:

  • Release the first ‘Latest Posts’ block design.
  • Support the ‘Contact Form 7’ plugin.
  • Add WooCommerce support for the Aino theme.
  • Add support for WooCommerce blocks.
  • Add support for German WooCommerce requirements (support for the Germanized plugin).
  • Convert our Elmastudio website to Aino.
  • Release a Pricing block.
  • Release the second Aino Block Pattern Set (which will most likely be called ‘Agency’).
  • And last but not least support of Full Site Editing features (like Templates and Global Styles).

We love to hear your feedback

We are building Aino together with you, and we need your help to achieve the best outcome for the project. Therefore we would love to hear your ideas and suggestions on what we should add to the theme or blocks.

What kind of block pattern designs are you looking for? Which WordPress plugins would you like to see supported? Do you have ideas for new blocks that we should add to the Aino blocks collection? Please write us a comment below, we love to hear from you.

Ein Erweiterung es Aino Angebotes für Keynote/ppt/psd Vorlagen auf z.B. Creativemarket wäre wünschenswert.
